04-18-11 Town Council Packets(3) r MEMORANDUM TO: Snowmass Village Town Council FROM: Hunt Walker DATE: April 18, 2011 SUBJECT: Road Fund Project List I. PURPOSE AND ACTIONS REQUESTED OF COUNCIL: To update the Council on the Road Fund Project List, and to specifically review with Council the RFTA Depot and Lower Carriageway ramp reconstruction project. No Council action necessary. II. BACKGROUND Last fall as part of the Road Fund Budget Public Hearing, Staff presented a preliminary 2011 project list. After inspecting and rating the Town's roads this March, Staff developed the attached project list. $513,000 has been budgeted for the road surfacing projects. In addition the project list includes stabilizing three existing tie walls located in Upper Lot 7, below Lower Lot 7, and Upper Lot 6. Two new soil nail walls will be constructed, one in Wood Run and the other in Ridge Run. $339,980 has been budgeted for the tie wall project. The asphalt in the RFTA Depot and the Lower Carriageway ramps has deteriorated to the point that it needs to be replaced (see attached pictures). The asphalt in the Depot will be replaced with concrete while the poor asphalt in the traffic lanes will be replaced with new asphalt. To complete the project the Town will remove and replace the median separating the Depot and the traffic lanes and eliminate the divider separating the traffic lanes (see attached map.) As explained in the attached Construction Management Plan the goal is to provide two lanes of traffic most of the time with one lane of traffic during construction during the day.
