01-18-11 Town Council Packets(3) 7q �o SNOWMASS VILLAGE TOWN COUNCIL RESOLUTION NO.7 SERIES OF 2011 A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF SNOWMASS VILLAGE, COLORADO, AMENDING THE TITLE VI PLAN WHICH INCLUDES A LIMITED ENGLISH PROFICIENCY (LEP) PLAN IN COMPLIANCE WITH TITLE VI OF THE CIVIL RIGHTS ACT OF 1964, 78 STAT. 252, 42 U.S.C. 200D TO 2000D -4, AND THE GUIDELINES OF THE FEDERAL TRANSIT ADMINISTRATION, AN OPERATING ADMINISTRATION OF THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION, FOR FEDERAL TRANSPORTATION ASSISTANCE AUTHORIZED BY 49 U.S.C. CHAPTER 53, TITLE 23 UNITED STATES CODE, AND OTHER FEDERAL STATUTES ADMINISTERED BY THE FEDERAL TRANSIT ADMINISTRATION. WHEREAS, the Town of Snowmass Village (TOSV) has an adopted Title VI Plan That needs to be amended to comply with Federal Transit Administration guidelines: Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, 78 Stat. 252, 42 U.S.C. 2000d to 2000d -4, the Title 49, Code of Federal Regulations, Department of Transportation, Subtitle A, Office of the Secretary, Part 21, Nondiscrimination in Federally- Assisted Programs of the Department of Transportation, and Executive Order 13166 "Improving Access to Services for Persons With Limited English Proficiency," reprinted at 65 FR 50121 (August 16, 2000); and, WHEREAS, the Federal Transportation Administrator has been delegated authority to award Federal financial assistance for a transportation project; and, WHEREAS, the TOSV has entered into a grant or cooperative agreement for Federal financial assistance; and, WHEREAS, the TOSV has provided all annual Certifications and Assurances to the Federal Transit Administration required for the project in Resolution 43, Series of 2010, and, WHEREAS, the TOSV finds that the adoption of this Resolution is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public health, safety and welfare.
