Our fees during this three year period were as follows: 1980 Audit Fees billed in 1981 $ 8,475 1981 Audit Fees billed in 1982 8,600 1982 Audit Fees billed in 1983 8,510 I guess we should next decide "where do we go from here?" We feel you can either put the audit into a competitive bidding process or we can negotiate a continuation of our prior ar- rangement. Obviously, my firm would like to negotiate a further continuation of our prior agreement. We would like to propose that our firm be allowed to continue as auditors for an additional three year period. We feel we can set the audit fees for this three year period as follows: 1983 Audit Fees to be billed in 1984 $ 7,500 1984 Audit Fees to be billed in 1985 8,000 1985 Audit Fees to be billed in 1986 8,500 It should be easy to see that we expect our fees to be less than in previous years. A number of items have occurred in connection with the Town which will allow this to happen. The Town has now computerized, the evolution of the Town has now slowed, with the Town reaching levels of maturity, and the staffing within the accounting department has finally stabilized. I should also mention our strong desire to re- tain the Town as a client and to keep this work within our valley. We have concluded that it is in our interest to John Young 11/14/83 page 2 make sure this happens. As such, we are prepared to negotiate with you on these prices. Should you wish to put the audit out for competitive bidding, we feel our fees should be extremely competitive. We would feel somewhat at a disadvantage in having already quoted the above numbers. Anyhow, let me conclude by saying this has been a very pleasant wo ng relationship. We sincerely hope that you will see our way, through to keeping us as your auditors. Please let me know how you wish to proceed. Very X}y)jy'purs, iftopher Lk Tolk, CPA CLT:
